Clifton
A Chinese contemporary, Clifton enjoys the fine art of plein-air painting. Each painting translates the ambience of light and atmosphere. His brushwork combines the sensitivity of the landscape with an almost impasto use of color. His technique has become characteristic of the impressionist movement with his discontinuous strokes of color that attempt to observe nature as it really is and transmit it on canvas.
Zhao Huxie (nom de plume, Clifton) graduated from Yeonbyeon University as a Fine Arts Major. In 1995, his painting, titled, The Fire of Sun, won the Jilin Art Exhibition Award. Clifton’s work has become sought after worldwide and he now has his own studio where he works independently as an artist full time.
