Magnitude, serenity, beauty, power and endless rhythm are some of the many reasons the ocean is a never-ending source of inspiration for me. I love to closely study the patterns and designs that occur. I take hundreds of photos every year to use as research and reference. Composition is always the key ingredient. I enjoy detail and will explore it in several areas in each painting.

Through my work, I am challenged by the visual complexities of the ocean. In my paintings, I attempt to pair this knowledge with the common emotional thread the ocean provides. I continue working on a painting until a balance between what I see and what I feel is achieved.
