Born in Elgin, Illinois, Beatty studied fine art at Arizona State University and Phoenix College. Patricia Beatty’s emotionally charged abstract landscapes could be described as visceral if they weren’t so beautiful. A light delicate calmness of color interacts with the passionate movement of shape and texture. Her original monoprints are often mixed media creations. Though her art is expressionistic, texture and patterns are solidly grounded in everyday life-inspired by the surface of old buildings or discarded shapes discovered in a metal scrap yard.
Her collections consist of AT&T Corporation in Phoenix, Arizona; Circle K Corporation in Phoenix, Arizona; Energy Simulation Specialists in Tempe, Arizona; Forest City Corporation in Cleveland, Ohio; Grand Canyon College of Nursing in Phoenix, Arizona; M&M Aerospace in Miami, Florida, and United Bank in Phoenix, Arizona.
